Youtube is announcing a new player that would deliver high quality format for its video. Now, with multi-file uploading capability, co-founder Steve Chen mentioned that the up and coming new high res format will be able to detect broadband speed and allows the user to decide if they wanted hi res video or not.

I personally thinks that if the detection works, this will be great piece of news. But if all videos are in high res, our portable devices will suffer from the lag…
Hope that they tested it properly before rolling out this new high res format.
